gt40 upper end w/ Comp XE 274 HR cam
a local guy is selling a comp XE 274 HR cam for $120.
I need to know if it'll fit with the gt-40 upper end
and if it will out perform the tsf1 if it does?
THANK YOU

should out perform the tfs cam easily. how many miles on the cam? with a roller cam you usually dont have to worry about buying it used but i'd still check it for damage and excessive wear patterns before you pic it up. if possible post some close up pics of a few lobes and the gear
should work with gto40 top end but you still want to check ptv. you most likely will end up degreeing it.

port the 40's but in answer to degreeing cam, you'd need a degree wheel, dial indicator and a pointer and following the valve timing events on the cam card you set the cam in at dot to dot first then set up wheel and indicator and follow valve events and see where the numbers come in at in reference to card vs actual, and based on what you come up with, you'll know whether you need to advance the cam timing or retard it.....in my case I just degreed my cam and the numbers I came up with fell right in line with what the cam card stated so I left cam installed at dot to dot
