Help with Horsepower numbers

Default Help with Horsepower numbers

I am currently building a 347..just wondering if anyone can help me with an approx horsepower number at the wheels..heres my parts list

347 stroker kit from CHP
edelbrock air gap intake
600 cfm carb
Ford Racing x303 cam
mallory ignition kit
twisted wedge 2.02/1.60 heads
4:10 gears
high flow water pump

Probably not as much as you think considering you're choking it. You need a bigger carb.

what size carb. will be sufficient? and would going to a 3 inch exhaust put the car into the 400 hp range?

it depends on your trans. if its a auto then 320. if its a stick around 370ish. but 3 inch won't do any good. on an n/a car 2.5 is perfect. if its blown then 3 inch is still a little overkill in some situations.

I'd suggest a 750.

I'd have to disagree. On a 600 horse N/A 408 or any size engine you're not gonna want a 2 1/2" exhaust. I enjoy breathing... I'm pretty sure engines do as well!

i was talking more torwards a mild 347. like what the op is building. otherwise, i'd agree with you. lol.

you want over 400........port the air gap or simply use a victor, port the twisted wedge heads out, and have a cam designed for the 347 and a 750 race carb
