this is geting out of hand anyways, im goin to bed
I get it I get it. With traction being equal and both cars making similar power, they do so in different ways at different points on the track. Relax and stay awake for awhile, I won't bother you any more :-)

I can't see how that scenario wouldn't net a higher trap and lower ET. Your thoughts?
You are DEAD on the money!

Granted this is a different senario for cars that have autos with non factory or near factory converters(for those of us who dont seem to get this)

Default Track Times *UPDATED*

Ok so yesterday I was able to make 4 passes and what a huge difference the slicks made.

First pass I messed up a little, I was kinda freaked out by the difference that the slicks made and It felt a little different so I was more or less feeling it out, 14.051 @ 99

Second Pass is where it started to get good. I was shifting at 5300-5500 RPM launching at 3500 in first. 13.950 @ 100

Third Pass I was racing a buddy of mine, he has a notch with a 306, AFR 165's, Comp Cam, BBK Shorties, and a Edlebrock Performer RPM intake, 3.55 gears, Alum Driveshaft, 5 speed, Street Tires. This is where I ran my best pass, Launched at 3700 RPM, hammered through the gears, shifted at 5000-5200 RPM:

RT: .056
60': 1.819
330': 5.873
1/8: 8.989
MPH: 81.439
1000': 11.081
1/4: 13.297
MPH: 105

Then The last pass my buddy and I were racing again and I missed third and ended up with a 14.1.

All in all it was a good time, I had alot more fun this time than I did a week ago, I think this car has the potential for 12's with a little more tuning, I am going to get a Tweecer RT This week and start doing a little logging and watching the A/F to get it set perfect. I am venturing to say I can see a 12.9 out of this car.

Mods I will do before the end of march:
Tube K-Member With Tube Control arms and spring perches
Drag Lowering Springs
Tweecer RT
Rebuild front end suspension of vehicle, new bushings, etc.

Ohh and I NEVER lost a race, Ran a 94 gt, my friends 05 Tiburon Tuscani, and my buddies notch.

almost a whole second time chipped off. And shifting lower you weren't killing your motor!

12s easy. Keep practicing the driving. 1.6 60 and youll be there 100%.

What pressure were you running your slicks?

Does your track have a photographer that publishes his pictures online?

Photos are taken on the weekends only and I work 7 days a week so I cant get out there on sat and sun. The Site is http://www.carolinadragway.com if you would like to check it out. I was running the slicks at 20 psi to start and bled them down to 15psi. I cant believe it was hooking at those high rpm launches. I need to practice the launches i think because three of the 4 passes the motor bogged when I dumped the clutch, so i think that with a little trial and error, I can get it to rocket out of the hole.

The downside to the whole event is that I will need a new water pump after last night. which bothers me because of all the work i just put into this motor. When I rebuilt it completely a year ago I put a new pump on it, I drove it here and there over the course of a year and put 500 miles on it, then i pulled it out again to put the heads, cam, roller rockers, etc in. When I had everything apart and was cleaning everything, I pulled the back plate off the water pump and destroyed the gasket that goes between the water pump and the plate. I had the gasket that goes between the plate and the timing cover so I decided that I would just silicone the plate back to the pump, well now its pissing out a little bit of coolant when it gets pressure in there. Its just one of those things you have to deal with when doing an engine I guess.
