Default H/C/I Need to know how your cars run cold?

A friend of mine has a 93 lx 306 with edelbrock rpm heads, ford #cam, typhoon intake 70MM TB, MSD 6AL w/o the RPM chips,MSD dizzy, 75MM MAF, 19 pound injectors, 190LPH fuel pump. Let me start off by saying the car runs great hot. When you first start the car and you go drive it pops putters and back fires a little. We are not getting on the car at this time just normal driving. It takes a good 15 mins of driving before it disappears like nothing is wrong. What I need to know is this normal. Any help would be great my friend is going nuts over this.

ya some ******* did the work for him and raped him. He spent so much money now I only do the work on his car now. Just need to know what to look for and why it does this.
Runs great hot but cold around 2500k 3000k not WOT it just breaks up. But when it warms up after a long time it runs like a raped ape. And I think it only does this on the first start up of the day I think.
