I would say that converter size and carb (not size) is hurting you a bit, but other than that looks pritty solidly in the 10.80-90 range.

The weight is kind of throwing me for a loss since its going to augment the numbers a decent ammount. If it were factory weight Id guess it to be about 11.80-90. Im figguring another second for being a featherweight.

i know its light. i weighted it on my trailer without the motor in it. and it totaled around 3200# . and my trailer weighs 1410#. i know that cause i built it and had to weigh it to get a tag. thats puts the weight of the car minus motor and driver at 1800#. its completely bare bones. maybe a lil more than 2200# but def not 3200#

When I was a young man, my Father had a 1978 Malibu with an Iron headed BBC in it. I think his total weight was a little under 2600 with him in it. So I can believe that his weight is down that far. I used to have to pick the back of the car up for him when he would pull or install his 33" tall meats under the rear.

Personally I doubt you could get that mix matched bunch of parts out of the 12's. I'm pretty sure You have the weight of that car wrong as well. Where in the hell did you find a set of 1 7/8 hooker stubby headers? A Vac secondary carb on a Funnel web? The Funnel web works good in high (really high) rpm situations. Your cam won't carry you into that intakes sweet spot. That thing is going to nose over right after the converter flashes like it has a throttle stop on a 347. You have a old street carb, an 7500+ intake a 5500 rpm cam, Then you have a set of heavy ported Windsor sr heads trying to exhale through a set of shorty headers with no kind of collector. Thats just messed up. Your block is safe and if youre looking for a 10 second time slip go to an 1/8 mile track.

Weight the car when your all done and it's running and you will see about +-2600 pounds without the driver. Remember what your engine weighs, Trans and Converter, rear axle, steering components, Battery, cables, shifter, wheels, brakes, etc, etc.etc.

I have an aluminum headed 347 and the only part on my engine that isn't aluminum is the block(other than internals). I've got a tubular front end and the car is pretty much stripped and even my front wheels don't weight but 10.2 pounds each. My rear is a bit heavier as is my transmission but your heads weigh 50 lbs more as do your front end components. I've done the math on mine (and mine is a lighter 85 coupe) and as low as I've been able to get mine down to is just a hair below 2550 pounds without driver.

ok well. i'll see what it'll do. then i'll go from there. like i said its just a weekend fun car.
the headers i got used from a guy around here. dont know where he got them. why would a collector matter?? i weight it with every thing but the motor and tranny and me in it. it might be closer to 2500-2600. but i dont really think it will be. but i'll see.

...I think you'll be surprised with the weight! ...Cars a GT hatch which is heavy + a heavy C-4 & iron heads...I'm thinking 2600-2800 #'s + driver!

My friend has a Cobra Kit car with a 302 that weighs 2400#'s on its own....

...Don't worry, your car will still move!
