you could always run a tap down the bolt hole and make sure the threads arent F'd up. also check your bolts and make sure they arent stripped. as for the pushrod thing...not really sure, how much shorter we talkin?

Is it possible that the bolt has some how pulled out of the head just a little to cause the looseness? Can you measure how tall those two are compared to the other ones? Maybe when you was tighting them up, it actually pulled them out of the heads.

you can shake them side to side with your hand with just a little pressure

I just retapped one of the holes so I know that's not a problem but I can get as tight as I can and they're still loose.I've changed out pushrods from ones that were tight and the loose rockers will still be loose

can you measure on the side of the head on the left and right side from the base to a common reference point? maybe they were milled on an angle by mistake.

with pedestal mount rockers, they will feel slightly loose, especially since your lifters more than likely arent pumped up. put it together and start it up

true but there shouldnt be wiggle room, at least mine didnt when i replaced my valve springs and freshened up the top end. i just torqued down the rockers to 20ft/lbs and it makes no noise and the PR's just spin a little bit but no up and down travel. i think if he has play in his PR there would be an issue
