Default T-5 shiftin problems

I just put a rebuilt T-5, spec stage 1 clutch, hurst short throw, i put royal purple fluid in it.

Sitting still, when i try to run through the gears some times it wont go in certain gears, other times it hard to get it out of gear.

I have maybe put 5 miles on this set up as it is a project car.

Today i took it out for a drive and shifting the gears is a little stiff, then when i came to a stop, i couldnt get it into 1st gear, when ever i put it in reverse it grinds.

What do you think?

you need to adjust the clutch via the self adjusting mech...first after a clutch install I often have to reset the self adjusting feature then pull up on the pedal to activate the self adjusting feature

Need to trash it and get an adjustable set-up. My crappy plastic quadrant only lasted 21 years and 164K

Reverse will always grind, it has no syncro. If you can, do what I do and try to throw it in reverse as soon as you turn the car on(if you need to back out of a parking space), that way it will not grind. If you are already driving, come to a stop, then need to throw it in reverse.... your gonna grind, you can't avoid it.

As far as reverse goes, just put it into first gear first, and then reverse. Works everytime without the grind.

Yup, i just throw it in 5th before putting it in reverse. You can also wait a few seconds too and it won't grind.
