Well fs308, thats you. But cash talks, if you took 2500 in cash to him, showed it to him and said, $2500 and I'll take it right now, cash in hand, he just must be willing to take the hit.

I'd say 3K is a good price for it...

re-read the post and haven't seen whether its an LX hatchback or a notch..but around here roller notches go for 2-2500...5,000 for a CLEAN notch with tasteful mods seems reasonable..150,000 miles isn't a lot of miles anymore..guys these cars are 15+ years old.

LOL. Spoken like a true sucker.

The reason people think these cars are worth that much is because there are people like you that think $5000 is a reasonable price!!!!

THESE ARENT SPECIAL CARS!!! They arent rare, they arent collectable, they arent unique, they have very mild performance, ford made more of the fox body mustangs than many many many automobile lines about 3,600,000 of them in all! All generally the same! No real variance in options besides body style. Id be damned if I were to pay much more than blue book value on a mustang. Aftermarket parts usuially detract from the price in my book not add to it like a majority of people believe.

I bought my car for $1600 with 46,000 original miles 1 owner. Case and point.

I think 5,000 is alot but dont go offering him 2500 that is disrespectful it is all about how much the car is worth to you I have a 92 lx vert with 101,000 original miles on it and if i was to sell it i would ask like 8000 but my car does have a nice amount of things done to it. It is all up to u and how bad u want it but I hope it is a notch I wouldnt feel so bad if it was a clean 5 speed notch.

It's not disrespectful to offer a lower amount, it's all part of the game. Maybe if we was asking $130k for a ferrari 360 and you offer the guy 70 that would be offensive.. but its a 20 year old 5.0 foxbody for gods sake. Offering half of 5k is no big deal.

who cares about respect when haggling over cars. you dont know the guy, youre not trying to build a business relationship with him. youre trying to get a car and get away with the most cash in your pocket. i dont see where 'honor' or 'respect' comes into play here. If this were a guy you knew or intended to build and maintain a friendship or relationship with, sure dont be a *****, but why care about every random peon's feelings? He set the price too high, he should expect to get his feathers ruffled.

whats funny is you guys never seen the car are drove the car but just says it is worth 2500 when did yall become kbb. heres a thought why dont yall sell him one of yall cars for 2500 in good condition. I dont think you guys would do that who care if the car is 20 years old if it is in good condition and the guy likes it and he has the money let him buy it. I live in philly and I am the king of tryna find stuff for cheap but for some reason these fox body cars do great numbers in good condition I just seen a 91 gt bone stock super clean go for 8000 I dont no how many miles but I know the car was super clean. I thought the car would never sell but it did. And from my stand point these cars will someday be collectors items some day if not already. A wise man once told me there is a *** for every seat. Just look around it seems that everyone is tryna sell there foxbody for 3000 or more hey go figure. I have a friend that is willing to give his 99 tahoe up for a 5speed foxbody right now.
here is an example

well.. I'd say a lot of us "became kbb" since we all purchased 5.0s, and did our fair share of looking and haggling before buying one. Oh yeah.. and that example you gave aid our point.. its a sloppy hatchback worth maybe 1800-2000 at best, so thanks for the help.
