TPS Help.
I hooked up the meter to my tps using pins through the wires and it was giving a reading of .76. I rotated the tps as far as it would go and could only get the voltage up to .84. I was told this tells the injectors to stay open longer. Is this true? Could my car detonate under normal driving conditions because of this low a voltage?

I see what he problem is now, the thing is corroded on the contacts.
Hey that actually worked. I wallowed the hole out and put it back on. It hit exactly 1.01 volts.

You thought wrong, and so does the guy that told you, that is misinformation. I work in setups from stock to SC configurations, and they've been "set" as low as .65 vdc and as high as 1.1 vdc with no problems/changes in performance and/or driveability measured at the track/street.....
BTW, that's the reason why EFI setups use a computer loaded with a program (logic) to deal with those variables. Having it "set" at .6 vdc works exactly the same way as having it set at .99999 vdc.... not because I say so, but because the EFI logic does (as shown) + the reason why the TPS is non-adjustable, as also shown in the official tech manual section for the TPS replacement procedure.
Again, you're doing changes that are not required and that will not net any changes because the computer resets itself to the new values. YCYDYP though.
