Timing question
The big brown truck came today and brought me a bunch of goodies, including my cam(comp xe270), double roller timing set and harmonic balancer.
My question is, does #1 need to be at TDC to install the timing set? I brought it up to TDC and went to put the set on but the marks don't line up dot to dot. I rotated the crank and got the set to line up dot to dot, but when I put my balancer on, the timing marks are nowhere near the pointer. Am I ok or am I maybe 180 out on the stroke?
I'm not dumb, and this isn't the first motor I've messed with, but it has been awhile and I wanna make sure I do everything right.

The cam and crank gear only go on 1 way, except for the adjustable gears which have multiple placements. Select straight up, align dot to dot like the manual says....and then DEGREE YOUR CAM to make sure.
