o the pan

If he is just trying to get the stock dipstick to stop seeping just put a little locktight near the stop that is built on the stick and drive it in. If he is trying to plug the hole where the old dipstick was and using a pan mount stick just take the old dipstick tube and cut it off about an inch over the tube stop and put a 1/4X1 inch bolt in it and braze it to the tube then put a drop of locktight on it and drive it in.

Thanks for trying to help my wife yesterday guys, i wound up buying a 7qt Canton oil pan and it has its own dipstick and i didnt even think of the stock dipstick hole until i was about to install it.
What I did:
Cut off the old dipstick tube 3/4" up from the rip with a pipe cutter so it stayed round. I brazed it shut, dapped some black RTV on it and filled the hole with it. Shouldnt be a problem right??
Thanks guys..
