Default DS loop Q

Does it matter where in relation to the driveshaft I install the loop? I've seen some people install one at front and one at the back. Based on NHRA rules or whatever, is two required?

I was just thinking of putting mine at about the mid point of the driveshaft.

Any thoughts on this?

The leading edge of the (2" wide minimum and minimum 1/4" thick strap) driveline safety loop MUST BE A MAXIMUM OF 6" behind the centerline fo the front U-joint.

as per NHRA rules. One is not required for the back joint, but it couldnt hurt.

You have to put it in the front like pass1over said. I think in the instructions that came with mine, it told me where to put it.

NHRA rules specify that the front edge of the loop be no more than 6" behind the front u-joint and at least 2" wide.(pg 67 in the 2008 rule book) on all cars running 13.99 or quicker using slicks or 11.49 or quicker using street tires. a second loop is allowed.
