I think he is talking of the carrier retainer caps they look like mini main caps put them on just like you took them off side to side and end for end.

The marking compound SHOULD come with the rebuild kit, at least it came with my strange kit. I'd call and ask if I were you, no point in spending extra money... Also, I think my additive came in a 10oztube from advance auto for like 8$... 7$ for 4 oz. seems a bit pricey... but then again maybe it isn't, I can't remember.
