What does the moulding on the side of the door get attached with??? Double sided 3M tape or some glue of some sort? P.S. its the one in the middle of the door.

Just make sure where you're going to place the tape that both surfaces are really clean of any old cleaning residue, Isopropyl alcohol works well because it dries (evaporates) quickly and more than likely you have some at home already.

Start at one end and take a heat gun or blow dryer and barely heat up the thin aluminum strip just enough so that you can take a pair of pliers and pull the thin aluminum strip off, that way you won't have to worry about the paint.
This will eliminate all that old glue and you don't need that thin aluminum strip, the new DBL side tape will just stick to the moulding.
