e303 cam...
So I just picked up a 88 gt that has edelbrock upper and lower intakes, e303 cam, bbk headers, flowmasters etc....my question is that it has a really smooth idle and a friend of mines car with the same parts has a nice aggressive idle. The only difference is that his has a MAF conversion and mine is still the original speed density set up. Will that make a difference in the idle? I was told by a "Ford Guy" that I really need to get the MAF conversion to wake up my car....any thoughts? thanks

since load is determined in part by the Map sensor a healthy vaccum signal is important for SD cars and when swapping to more aggressive cams that can lower vaccum signals, the SD system can improperly calculate fuel deliver based on a snafu vaccum signal that in part is a result of the cam choice, an E 303 should deliver a decent vac signal but may be slightly lower than what a stock cam does, basically to sum it up when swapping cams in an SD car if you go more aggressive a maf conversion is recommended so fuel mapping will be proper/adequate

so, the big question is...what do I need to do to get the more aggressive idle like his cam? Is it a timing issue? What should I have the timing set at? I appeciate all of the help...I am new to this Mustang thing
