Default Tall dude in a 'Stang

Guys (and Dolls), Im in the process of selling my 95 f150 4x4 and was thinking of buying a 89-93 GT. This is one of the cars I wanted in my youth, the one that was brand new when I was in high school. lol. I have a couple of questions though....1. Im 6'8" tall, is it impossible so to speak for me to fit in a fox body GT? I am looking to buy an automatic but if a 5 speed is what i find, how much trouble is it to fit in the car at this height? 2. Realistically speaking how much horsepower was from the factory and how much can you expect from basic addons you see in the pages of Jegs and Summit? Like cold air intakes and bigger TB's, etc? Thanks...Jim

As far as the height issue, I'm 6'2" and I just fit in the car comfortably with the seat all the way back. I'm pretty sure there are modifications you can make to the seat tracks to allow more rearward travel but I don't know the details. Hopefully someone else will chime in on that.

The Fox 5.0s were rated around 225 at the crank and bolts ons can wake the car up a little, but I wouldn't expect any huge increases.

Find a t-top or convertible then you don't have to worry about head room.

P.S. if you want to wake up the car for a relatively cheap price, rear gears are where it's at.

Most go 4.10s with automatic, 3.73s with manual.

6'6" with no problem, now thats what im talking about lol. About the gearing in the rearend, if im not mistaken the GT came with an AOD? Is that correct, with 4.10's what kind of RPM'S are you getting around 65MPH? One more question did all 89-93 GT's come with limited slip rearends and whats the stock gearing if anyone knows?

The Vehicle Certification Label (V.C. Label) is affixed on the LH (Drivers side) front door panel or door pillar.
Look at the bottom where it says AX and this will give you the rear gear ratio for either an AOD or Manual transmission.

Im 6'1" and i still have quite a bit of room. I did see these on latemodelrestoration though, they raise you up 1/2in but put you back 3in.
