I was trying to remove my oil fill cap to add some oil when the top part of the cap broke off, leaving the rest of the cap still screwed into the fill neck. It was very hot today so maybe the metal on the fill neck expanded and that's why I can't get the cap off. How can I remove the rest of the cap without risking any plastic breaking off or doing damage to the threading in the fill neck? Thanks!

I got it out. Just needed to wait until the engine cooled off.
