Default Running on 4 cylinders...

Hey, did a carb conversion on my '92 5.0l. mallory ignition, mallory regulator, 650 holley 4150 series, RPM Air Gap, 85' gt distributor with steel gear. Dizzy properly stabbed, right on TDC, 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8 pattern, good compression on all cylinders. Starts up no problem but only runs on cylinders 2 3 5 and 8. All negatives and wires checked and rechecked. Any ideas?

Thanks

it wouldn't start if the dizzy was stabbed wrong and its giving spark to all wires... no clue, can't see it being it...

but ya adder I never noticed that... dunno what to think of it though... anyhow, your signature says it all...

You have spark at all the plugs? And it isn't running? Are you getting gas in the cylinders?

yeah... this whole car is a damn phenomenon... if it could go wrong it has gone wrong... its stupid... you have air fuel and spark and I"m getting all three and it wont work... it's just a dual plane intake with a 650 carb so I don't see why all cylinders wouldn't get fuel.

I was saying there could be something wrong with the dizzy at one time my 85 did that and come to find out it was the wires running from my module to the dizzy

I haven't adjusted them since the efi set up put they all worked great then so I don't see why that would have changed.

well its an older style distributer with a plug-in. Off the plug in theres a connector which has a orange violet and green wire. Now the mallory ignition that I have has green and purple magnetic wires. I was told the green wire from the ignition goes to the violet from the dizzy, and the purple from the ignition goes to the orange from the dizzy leaving the green as a negative. Other then that the ignition has a positive and negative wire going to the coil, and positive and negative going to the battery and a tach wire. That's all for wiring..

REASON, I ask is cause I remember you having such issues with the efi set up and if before doing the swap you still had probs, then you may still have the original prob still present
