i need some help identifying an engine i bought. what year and car its from. its a 5.0with throttle body injection. the number on the block is ok27 and then number on the heads is

do you mean CFI when you say tb inj ???

as far as i know the only car that came with that is a '85 w/ an AOD in it. and it made like 150 hp or something silly

an HO motor will have "XXX" in the lifter valley and all of them do

there is however a date stamped in the block but i highly doubt you can read it... you never can

 

it says yyy on the block not xxx.

 

you are not looking at the right casting numbers!!...they are located on the side of the block where starter is situated...should start out with E...........

 

My 80 block has XXX in the oil galley so its not just the roller blocks.
