Default Distributor problem

Ok went to the dyno again and had to bump up my timing to 30* to make power(350hp and 400tq). So I think that my distributor is off a tooth. So I need to pull it and drop it back in. What is the best way to make sure the engine is at top dead center?

Ok not to sound dumb but what is a piston stop adder? I work at a parts store and have never heard of one. I mean the name obviously give away what it is I have just never seen one.

I still fail to realize how a tooth off can't be corrected by turning the distributor.

To install it correctly, Get someone to help you find the compression stroke. You should see your timing mark somewhere around there. With the balancer at tdc your rotor button should be pointed towards the #1 plug wire.

Maybe you need a distributor
