Default Trans question for a Classic Guy

I never wonder over here. This is my first post in the 5.0 area. I am a classic guy but im sure you fellas over here are just as informative so thank you in advance.

My bro has a 85 5.0 and he grenaded his t5. i know where there is a t5 out of a 95 cobra that has low miles and i can get it for $300. is there a way to make it fit. Or is it too much of a burden!

actually, the tailshaft isnt any longer. but the increased length of the input shaft is where the problems will arise from.

OP.. stick to a 90-93 T5 if you can find one. They are the strongest of the T5's in the fox era.
