whats this ground for ?
why is the insulation under the hood grounded to firewall? ...i put on a fiberglass hood without the insulation ...can i just eliminate that ground or should i do something with it?
#3
is there another way to make the light work?

The braided ground wire is probably going from your engine block to firewall, or at least it should be. The under hood light is useless. Even if you had to work on the car in the dark, this light will not make it much easier.

heres the ground im referring to ....
heres the light..it appears to have its own ground ...well at least 2 wires
another interesting thing i found on the bottom side of the stock hood ...is this done at the factory?..looks like it was cut out for scoops but the is no evidence of being repaired from the top
you can click the pics for full size

Looks like someone was gonna do something to it before you got ahold of the car. Do this, take the light off the hood but leave the wiring connected and hold it in your hand and move it to see if it comes on.

not really worried about the light but i will try to ground it if it dossnt work (havent even put a bulb in it yet
....just seems to me that big ground wire has some other purpose than grounding that light ...but cant imagine what

If that's the ground that goes to the hood that's all it's for. There's no other electrical device attached to a hood.
