Default fuel pump replacement

It's time for a new fuel pump...
Jeg's sells a "kit" (Carter) that comes with a pump, hose, sock thingy, etc.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Carter/180/P74105HP/10002/-1

Is that the way to go? The pumps seem awfully expensive...
Does anybody have any experience with replacing the pump? How hard is it to do? Any decent, inexpensive pumps?
Thanks!

Best bang for the buck, right there. Feel free to upgrade as high as you want though, if you plan to consume more fuel in the future. Unused fuel is just returned to the tank anyway, so a 255lph would be just the same. BTW, Carter pumps are the exact same ones that BBK sells.

Easy install. Get the car in the air, get a jack with a plank of wood under the tank. Remove the straps. Remove the bracket holding the filler hose to the side of the tank. Slowly lower the tank a bit, then unplug the wiring connection on top. It will loop around towards the bumper. As you continue lowering, also slide the tank towards the driver side of the car, as the filler neck slides into the side of the tank quite a few inches.

On the top of the tank, you will find 2 receptacles. The pump is on the passenger side of the tank, the sending unit is located in the middle.

Be sure your tank is almost empty before you do this, otherwise get a ****load of rags and speedydry.

Yea, very cheap..... I'd get a larger pump like said above, just incase you wanna do upgrades later, you'll have the pump that can handle it...

quick question for you, just got a 95 droptop gt and i am having problems with idle. when i drop below 1000 rpms, she runs rough, like i am starving for fuel and staying in lean condition. i have replaced fuel filter and pump recently due to pump failure. the person i bought it from had put e-85 gas. i have checked the vehicle with a live scan and everything is working good. what can be causing my problem? you can reach me at nortclikflip71@yahoo.com

Get a 190lph pump if you plan on staying N/A and throw on a 255lph if you go FI soon. But a 190 should be more than adequate.
