Ship it or monster road trip?
At this point, not even most Mexicans will go to Mexico. It's just very dangerous there. THings are crumbling and crime is up sky high. And Honduras.....don't do it. They aren't too American friendly.
But you can drive down there, just be sure to be packing some serious heat. When my family goes down there, my dad carries a desert eagle, passenger gets a glock. Military shotgun and M4 in the back, easily assessible and loaded but out of site. You have to be packing like a small army to go down safely.
But as others said, I woudln't even take the car to Columbia. Get a rental or a junker. Trust me you'll be happy that A)You weren't beaten the crap out of or killed for your car and B) that you'll have a new found appreciation for your car.

I'm excited because I've never seen one before in my life in Mexico. So I'm thinking it's just a friendly convoy of street racers but I was wrong. Looked to be a white guy or light Mexican in the fox with some suped up Mexican make of car with a guys hanging out the windows. I'm sure they weren't waving but then again there was no gunshots. The fox was hauling serious *** and the guy looked a bit scared.
I remember this vividly because I remember my dad also loading his handgun and putting it on the dash and telling me that I need to go back to sleep.
IDK why but this made me remember when my dad and bros were driving to Florencia (Got a ranch down there) at night after one of the military checkpoints told us to not stop for anything. So we're driving and as we come down this mountain slope with three lanes we see fox headlights.

Once I saw a dude in a business suit driving around in one of those really old luxury ragtops, like a Benz or something. I don't know the make, but like a old gangster ride with the hood in two pieces that open to the sides.
The only thing that kinda makes me cringe is the friggin potholes. Almost makes me want to bring the Jeep instead, but then I'd look like a redneck.
If more people in the States experienced other cultures without bigotry, we'd be a better people for it.
Anyone know anything about oceanic shipping? I'm sure there are individual services like container shipping where you park the car in a box and they crane it onto a ship with a million other boxes and you claim it at the other shipping port, and there have to be all-inclusive companies that take care of everything including trucking it to your door abroad.
I wouldn't mind sticking out in Bogota, because the places that I would be driving would not be the places that you would be looking to avoid if you enjoy life. I wouldn't be taking her downtown. I see people driving around new Mercedes and BMWs, although not in the numbers you see here. Strangely enough, I have seen 60s and 70s era Stangs, as well as quite a few 95-05 years, but I have yet to see a 87-93. I have seen 60s era Stangs that people here would give their left arm for if you cleaned it up a bit. I dare say I would look pretty cool, and the people that usually drool at the newer cars would be craning their necks to check out my ride. They wouldn't have to "crane their ears", for obvious reasons.
