^^ agreed. and remember some ring gear bolts are left hand thread. but if u gotta ask that ? then i dont think it will turn out well. not only can u wipe out the bearings but also if you dont set the pattern right you will f*** the ring and pinion. and if stuff comes apart you can actually junk the axle housing itself. no bueno haha

Well dayum! I appreciate all of your emphasis on the technicality involved.

I didn't know jack about switchin' these things when I opened my big mouth about it- but today I did go learn about the preload and backlash. Everything is gonna be fine

o and- I didn't have an impact for the ring gear, but that would've been nice

hey guys, the first time i did gears was when i was like 15 ( i think) maybe 14, with some help of a buddy who knew what we were doing. now, we did get lucky and everything was good ( backlash etc etc) the first try, but it still isnt very hard to do. of course right now, i couldnt remember how to do it lol ( a year later)

Yea, the only way to learn is to try. Sure, it may be an expensive learning experience, but you cant put a price on experience. Give' er a go. Good Luck.
