Hello Everyone, New member here needing some help.
I've got a 5.0 with few mods and wanted to put the best oil in my engine. Is 15w40 Royal Purple too heavy or should I go for it? My car gets few starts since its a weekend warrior...

 

15w is too heavy, you can use 10w-40 but at room temp the 15w will be slightly thicker than 10w, i.e. youll get more wear at startup with the 15w

 

Castrol Edge imo.

 

would it be ok if I mixed it with a lighter oil same type like 5W20? I got the 15w40 for free, so I kinda want to use it if i can. Also I just put a cobra upper and lower intake so i know i have to do an extra oil change. it gets kinda pricey.

 

i use royal purple and i wouldnt say its the absolute best synthetic out there. ive heard the mobil 1 is very good. 10w is fine. the 15 might be too much.
