Hey thanks again man, well atleast you figured out the motor problem.

I got the passenger fender, bumper, bumper support, and headlight rack off, and also found out that the cobra body kit is completely trashed, it was cracked in half on the passenger side, and the rear bumper is cracked, so idk what i'll do there.

Need a new hood for sure, i'll probably sell it for whatever anyone would want to offer, it could probably be patched, but i never really liked the hood in the first place.

The inner fender is crumpled, and i need a new radiator support since it has already been pulled once, i don't want it to be any less structurally sound so its going.

Headlights are bad, so new headlights, this is going to be pricey. =(

Well from the looks of it, quotes are right around 7-8k with me buying all the new stuff.

Thats way more than the car is worth, and i can tell my parents are leaning towards me getting a different vehicle. I hate to say it but i don't see it getting fixed anytime soon, i do however plan on parting out everything i can that i don't want or need and fixing it up as i go, if it comes down to me getting a new car.

I really am bummed about the news though, idk what i'll get stuck driving now, but i know it won't be anything special.

I wish i had full coverage and not liability, they won't pay for any of it.

 

Check out mps auto salvage in Winder, GA. they have everything you can think of for mustangs including complete front clips. I picked one up for $2500 after a guy in an explorer turned left in front of me. It included everything I needed except airbags, but I dont think you will need those.

 

Well i'm scrapping the project for now. The mustang will eventually be rebuilt to its fullest potential, it will be stored away for now. I hate to do it, but i need a more reliable car. And i can't justify paying 8k for it right now.

I'm going to look at a 1998 Z28 camaro tomorrow. I want another mustang but the ones in the price range are just so.... horrible.

Future plans for the mustang will be complete restoration. Ground up. Everything will be new pretty much. But since i'm only 18 and i have no job, i can't afford it right now. Whatever i get i will flip it to sell... take the profit and put it back into the car.

Wow im sorry to hear about your car but glad your ok. If I were your I would go out and try to find a cheap structurally sound roller. Strip everything you need off of that as far as fenders radiator support, all that stuff. Then junk the roller and pick up a 200 or so there or sell it. I just need a reliable car for now, its 98 Z28 with 63,000 original miles.

I'm a ford guy, trust me on that... but i can't see paying more for a gt with minor mods or riced out cars...

I would switch everything to a roller, but then again its not going to be as reliable as the camaro... I just want to rebuild this mustang since its my first car, i don't ever want to sell it.

It's my baby, and always will be.

good luck man... just keep your eyes out for ones in the boneyard you can knick parts off of... hell I saw an LX 4 banger vert in my local boneyard, interior was torched but from the firewall forward the sheet metal was perfect

 

8 grand seems like a bit much when you can buy mustang bodies for less than a grand. If you sand it yourself, you can have it sprayed for cheap if you know someone that can paint.

If you get a camaro, look for one that has had an ls6 conversion and some 3.73 gears. The hp will be blowing the tires off at 60 miles an hour with an auto. A guy around here got one in mint condition with vette wheels for 10 grand. The car is in the 7s on the motor in the 1/8.
