I have a chance to buy a 95 Mustang gt 5.0 HO...for $650! It runs...has 198k miles on it. I read that these cars stock have about 215HP...I know thats not a whole lot, but can these cars be made fast fairly easy? I have an 06 Mustang GT that I got about 2 months ago and I am not very interested in modding it to heavily. What are your opinions on the 95 model cars? Any known issues? ANything I should look for when going to check it out? The guy said I would be able to drive it home...and basically im looking for a project car. Thanks!

You are posting this in the wrong section.

These cars can be made very fast. All depends on how much money you are willing to spend. H/C/I, gears, exhaust, are just a few of the mods you will want to do when you get it. Make sure the body is straight & no rust. Drive the car for a good 30 minutes to see if there are any overheating problems. Check to see what the oil looks like. Make sure the oil is not milky white. Check the fit of both doors. This is some of the stuff I would check and I am sure others here will tell you other things to check.

I'd be all over this as long as the body is in good shape!

you're gonna notice that it's gonna seem sluggish given that its an auto, because the AOD and AODE eat up some power pretty good, but don't fret. you can build an auto that is nasty.
