good for you. i'll stay stock for three reasons: i like the looks, cheaper, and i won't wrap it around a tree.??
BUT, that is a lot of cash . just another thought. are there records available from the prior owner(s) to confirm the mileage isn't 120000?

im gonna laugh the day that some little old lady parks her Lincoln Continental through your drivers side door, and the insurance company says "heres your check for $2500 for your totalled piece of ****"

Get your deposit back and buy a low mileage cobra. It will be worth much more then the convertible you are looking into.

if you're happy then go for the buy. but 15 grand? seriously? the guy selling it is bragging to his friends right now about the sucker that's buying his car for more than double what it's worth. what adder said is right, if something happens to it you're going to get less than 5grand for it. even if you get it appraised and covered under collector car insurance it's not worth anywhere near what you're paying for it so I'd think they wouldn't insure it for as much.

yes, it's true, there is an *** for every seat. If this is the car he wants and he doesn't mind shelling out for it, who cares. Maybe he has deep pockets and money's not a problem. He can have the car appraised and insure it for what it's worth.

Post up some pics when you get it!!

15 grand? holy crap, you may wanna call the cops cuz whoever sold that to you just raped you pretty bad.

and I agree, these cars are worthless. alot of the people on thse forums have more money in the engine than what they paid for the car...

Subscribing to this epic thread. The only way your 'investment' will be worth 30,000$ in 10 years is if Dollar gets devalued 10 fold. As someone pointed out, for the insurance company your car is worth 2,500$ according to the KBB. And on top of that...10 years from now car power will be measured in # of batteries under the hood, and not # of cylinders .

if you've actually been looking for 2 years then you should know this is a ridiculous price to pay for a 91 GT. If you want something that's actually going to hold its value buy a 93 Cobra like linked above. Like I said before it does not matter that it only has 20k miles and that it's numbers matching, it's just a run of the mill GT.

I don't want a cobra. But your quick search cobra will sell for over $20,000. Not the same price. It will sell for a 30-50% premium over my car.
