Default spool for street use

Can you get away with running a spool on the street or is a posi the only way to go?

I have been running a spool for 2 years now and a mini spool for a year before that no real issues at all other then real tight turns( like parking places) and you will here the tires scrub like said and the car feels like it is binding up. out on the road it is not bad at all. tire wear is a bit more also. BUT it is not a every day drive by any means. it really is not that bad my wife drives it and it does not bother her that much.

Why does everyone hate the posi? Just get a good one from EATON or Moser and it is just as good.

Stick with the Eaton that you already have. Spools on the street can be trouble.

If you're having traction problems on the drag strip, you could consider an Eaton electric locker. It's and open diff until you energize the cuircuit, then it's a spool.

Ill be keeping the eaton posi in my 83. this was just for future reference. I plan on picking up a notch to strip and turn into a wild 306 n/a drag car. Just curious if you could run a spool on the street.
