Tire'd
So my parents wanna get me something for Christmas, and I still havnt gotten new tires, which I'm gunna need soon, so I'd figure I might ask for some.
I've never been tire shopping before I don't know what to look for other than tread life vs. performance. Mind you this is my DD and my parents aren't made for money. I visit the track every once and awhile and most likely will be racing on these tires. Actually I'll prolly just use the 90% worn tires I have now for track use in the future...
Also what size do you guys recommend getting for the stock 93 wheels? What size would you recommend that doesn't rub, balloon too much, or looking goofy?

if you are referring to the pony wheels. I suggest a 245/50/16
as far as tire brands go, if you arent going to drive like a *****, a GOOD quality all season would get you 40-50k miles... Cooper, BFG, goodyear, fusion, toyo
try to stay away from sumitomo, nankang, hankook (although they make a good tire, they often are bad in winter weather, and ride harsh) and stay away from other cheap low end tires.

At minimum you'll need a 225/55/16 tire. But like Adder said, the 245/50/16 will work too. You'll just be spending a few extra bucks. I work at Discount Tire( not saying I know everything about tires), but the most popular sporty tire that I see is the GoodYear Eagle GT. It's a 50,000 mile tire that seems to work well. I plan on running these tires when I get new tires next month. Another good option would be the BF-Goodrich g-force sport. I run them on my S/C'ed Mustang. They grip well around the corners, ride smoothly, and are quiet. But traction is a bit limited. But not many street tires work well with boost If you are on a small budget, the Kumho Ecsta's are okay too. The only problem I see is that the rubber compound is extremely soft, which would not be great for longevity or noise reduction. But then again, you're looking at an $80 tire. When you get new tires make sure your parents get your tires with Certs(certificate for replacement or repair). Most tire shops offer this. Trust me. There are Many times a tire is not fixable and without certs you'll be left buying a new tire. Happens all the time and people are not happy. Hope this helps!

they rub on your car because of the year.. in the late 80's to early 90's. the fenders were widened slightly and larger tires fit easier

there is a guy around here that puts those on his car just to show out on the weekend just for the fun of it...I guess it could help if he ever wanted to sell it to a high school kid
