I guess Ford went back to rating their vehicles at the flywheel....that motor does look to be pretty bad ***. 4 bolt mains with a forged assembly? They also said the thing will have a 6-speed which is pretty bad ***

Back when I sold cars in 02 and 03 the Lightening and Cobra were rated at the wheels. I never looked into it but, always thought the other mustangs were too.

The 390hp of the 03 Cobra is at the wheels. The 03 Cobra will walk the dog with this new 5.0 liter mustang.

I guess it makes since though as far as marketing, since the output of an auto and manual will be different and the SVT cars are manuals.

I guess it was just the SVT vehicles.

I kinda figured they did. My buddy had one that barely broke 400 after he spent a few grand on exhaust and a tune

Like he said Ford lied about what they were rated at. Just like they did in the 60's.

I would feel bad about saying a 5.4 with a supercharger can only put down 390 lbs. of torque.

i have also always wondered why the GM 4.6 and the Mod motor were introduced within a few months of each other and the Northstar was so much faster. Kinda makes me wonder if GM sold them the design.
