Smile replacement door armrest

I'm worried about snapping off something that can't be replaced. I bought replacement door armrests and have to remove the worn ones. Do the old armrests just pry off with no problem and the new ones snap into place onto some posts? I'm not refering to the bottom have of the assembly that fastens to the door but the top side. Thanks. Still a rookie.

Once you have the screws and the two main bolts out, it should slide up and out

I think he is talking about the top pad of the armrest.

Once you pull the armrest off the door, flip it over and you should see 4 black screws holding the pad onto the arm. Remove those and install in reverse order. You have to really press the aftermarket ones into the armrest to make them look right though since there are no predrilled holes in the aftermarket ones. Unless there are new, better ones out there.

Thanks! Although , I was hoping for something like a press fit onto posts. There are few holes on the underside of the armrest pad but definitely not there as a screw hole. iI'll take a closer look at the underside tomorrow. I've had the assembly off the door and I guess I never noticed the screws you're talking about on the underside.
