I have both efi and carb, as for my carb'ed ride it starts up and runs good in the cold, I just refuse to drive it in the cold around here because I live on a gravel road and it has been constantly saturated with water/snow, creating a mud mess around here.............antiquated or not, the performance they deliver vs cost cannot be denied, I live on both sides of the fence here so I can atest to both sides of the argument

I think you meant e-7's and no they are not the best stock heads. The GT40's and GT40P's are the best performing stock heads.

hmmm.... i still think i'm leaning torwards efi. i know it's a hassle but it's worth it. and i think the 5.4 would definitely deliver more power cuz 84's only came stock with 175... and i doubt the newer 5.4's would be any less than what 280? 300? idk lol i still have a lot to learn, and there's nothing wrong with old school.

Just wanted to make sure you know. The 5.4 is a modular motor and requires a little more work than just a straight swap..... You could go with a EFI 5.8 with a good H/C/I.

the 5.4 is going to REQUIRE a larger hood, whole new fuel system, new transmission, different K-member, and a butt load of wiring...

stick to the windsor motors.. you'll be happier

custom headers and IMO it wouldnt be worth doing it unless you are doing a 5.4 4v motor
