What to do.....
Hello,
I'm in the proses of restoring my 1990 GT. I'm looking for something nice to put under the hood. I'm on a little over 8 grand on my spending. I would like to do most of the engine modifications at home. I was also thinking about stroking the 302, buying heads, ext....
The engine is bone stock expect for MSD distributor that i installed when mine took a dump.
Thanks guys....

afr heads, kenne belle blower, that's about 4 g's with supporting mods5 grand give or take a few hundered.or a built up 347 can eat up most of that.you got many options. if your spending 8 g's on motor everything else will need doing too.you can make allot of power with that money.

Well, N/A, turbo or supercharger Really dosen't matter. I want it to be streetable more than track. (I live super far from one and its ****ty) I want something different. Gas isnt a huge issue.
Alot of people are telling me to keep the 302 for weight and running gear issues, i think i've got 3:83's in the back, as i said its stock take away the little things. Right now my mane thing is power. i'll post some pics as soon as i find out how to.
Thanks Guys.

If you're sticking with a 302 block there's no reason not to stroke it to 347.
Alot better results will be had and there's no real weight difference.
3.83's? Maybe 3.73...?
Define "running gear issues"

I would not go with a 302 base block for nothing any more. I would go with a 351w and stroke it to a 383 408 or something in that range or a 351 with some boost much better block to start with and the add cid to boot with room to grow. But that is just me. unless you to start buying a aftermarket block and so on when you stroke it and add a power adder it don't take long to reach the limits of a 5.0 block. do a 351 throw some good parts on it and some boost and make 600+ hp and not have to worry about the block. or spend $1500 + on just a block and save some of that $8000.. But what do I know.

The man I bought it from told me 3:83's But now that i've noticed i don't think they make 3:83's.
And running gear, if Foxbodys are anything like my f-150 when i broke the 375-400 rwhp it bent and soon broke the drive shaft. I just want to make sure what ever i do doesnt give me hell later down the road.
Im really have issues with the electrical system in the car. so i think im going to go a step further and just take the car 100% apart and start from scratch. nothing worse than sparks down the high way.
