One test to perform is this. When you try to start it for the first time, turn the key into the on position so the fuel pump primes for two seconds. Turn the key off. Turn the key on again to re-prime. Turn if off. Turn it on again but this time, try to start the car. If it does not want to start, your problem is probably not fuel related. Could be timing. Have you adjusted that any?

don't be so sure of that^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, you need to put a fuel pressure gauge on and check for leak down, and DO NOT TOUCH THE TIMING!!!!!!!!!!! CHECK FOR leak down first with a gauge on the test port, I bet you have leakdown...once you verify that then we can help pinpoint where the leakdown is

If you do what MustangBradley says and it helps then you could have the same problem I had, the valve in the fuel pump was stuck open and allowed the fuel pressure to drop as soon as the car was turned off.

mjr46 put a finer point on it than I did. I asked if you had adjusted the timing only because it seems so many people adjust their timing looking for a few more horsepower and then adjust it wrong. His idea of a pressure gauge is the more sophisticated way, and the safer one. Spraying oneself with gas is the quick and dirty way. Hope you don't smoke!

and also doesnt tell you jack diddly ****..

pressing on the schrader valve and spraying fuel everywhere is not only dangerous, messy, and down right STUPID... its also not accurate in ANY way.

I HIGHLY doubt that YOU can tell the difference between 20PSI and 39PSI with a spary from a valve core... Also, the gauge helps clue you in, not only on a PRESSURE, problem.. but also a VOLUME problem.

If fuel pressure drops while the engine is under load... you have a volume issue. sadly, half of the hacks on this site STILL havent got a clue what that means.

Not to thread jack, but if you open the valve and press down on the little pin and hardly anything comes out, that's bad right? If not very much is coming out what problem could that be?
