a punched out 302 makes sence for a road course car, if thats your goal with the IRS.
but.......... why 331? why not 347??????
just always wanted one. i know its easier to make power on a 347, but i like the rod/stroke ratio on the 331 better. i know the 347 has all of its pin/oil ring problems well sorted out, so that doesnt concern me.
just want to be able to turn a little bit higher rpm more safely (6800-7000).
call me stubborn... lol
my trucks looking like it might need a new engine one day (actually it really doesnt, but more torque for towing wont be argued with).
408's gonna go in it albeit with a VERY mild build (torque torque TORQUE!!!). itll never even see 6000rpm probably.
