Default IM at a loss

Ok so ive been trying to decide on what year 5.0 to buy.n 85 and below are carburated and 86 and above are fuel injected, The 88-92 come stock with the most HP and TQ. After a little reading the lx is lighter than the gt but im not sure what to get so i ask for yalls opinion on what you think

the differences are so small between them, just buy one you like the best and for the best price.

what are your plans? if its an all out race car then yea the best of them all would be a coupe style since they're lighter. or if you want carb, get a carb 4 eye.

ya i was thinking the coupe but my tossup between carb and EFI is you can pull more out of the carb cause your not restricted by MAF or density meters.
But u get the control of A/F ratio with EFI so i'm just trying to get everyones opinion on it

You can always swap over your air/fuel induction system later if you prefer.

I doubt you will be hitting the limits of fuel injection power...

EFI can be pretty nasty. Those new super snakes aren't carb'd...

And as for stock power/weight.... are you really not going to molest the car and just drive a stock one?

what are your plans for the car? is it a drag racer? daily driver..what?

you'll get more power and cheaper out of a carb vehicle. more user friendly too.

It will be a project car but it'll be street/strip probably. Not a daily driver though

I always liked the 1991 LX 5.0 notchback. They're a little harder to find but more valuable then the fastback and lighter too.

'91-'92 Notch, end of discussion!

BTW, you want it for track use???

Then you could really go with anything since you're probably going to gut it out and put something bigger under the hood rite? Or will you be sticking with the stock 302?

Notches are over rated. Why take weight off of an already traction starved rear end... :P

I still want a notch, though.
