T5 transmissions only came in the 3.8 liter Mustang in the later years so you would have to get a bellhousing that will mate it to the 4.6. The T45 came in the 4.6 Mustang so it should bolt up no problem as well as the T56 which came in the Cobra.(If you buy one that comes with the correct bellhousing)

You can bolt almost ANY transmission up to your car, just need the proper bellhousing
Like for my project im looking for a TH400 (GM transmission) to back my 4.6, just a matter of putting the correct bellhousing on the unit to make it fit
