Default problem with wiring

OK I have an 85 Mercury Capri it was a carbureted 5.0 motor with a t5 and now I am wanting to switch to fuel injection. What is the easiest way to do that. I already have the fuel injection harness and the main computer harness ran on the motor and in the car. The thing I am having trouble with is there is a green 8 pin rectangle connector by the computer plug in and a grey round 8 pin connector. I have no idea where the grey connector goes and as far asthe green connector I have the connector that plugs in there behind the dash but it only has 3 pins. So I needed to know what other wires I will have to splice into that to get the wires I need to plug into the connector. I do have a 90 Dash Harness and I believe that green connector should have 7 pins inside it but the one in the car only has 3 so if someone would please help me out that would be great. Thanks.

What car did you get the fuel injection parts from? Hopefully, all of the parts (sensors, harness, computer) came out of the same car. Next is to buy a shop manual for the car the FI stuff came from. Make sure it has a wiring diagram (with colors!) in the back. This will allow you to trace what wires you need to keep and what can be cut out of the harness. There are many sites on the web that list what sensors you need to hook up.

The wiring diagram is the most important 'tool' you can buy for this swap. I put a 95 GT motor in my 65 and I would have been lost without the diagram.
