460 swap
just a thought, why not got with a 351w instead? 460s are huge and weigh A LOT
and ya lots of guuys have done this sort of swap. You will need a k member with proper engine mounts, swap headers, probably a differnt hood to fit it under

You got one in your garage dude lol. You know I wouldn't be surprised
Hey I saw that you were asking about how the conversion was going on a previous thread but it was locked before I could reply. This is a small build thread that I started a long time ago and have been putting progress of it there. Check it out. I think that you will recognize a few items.

+1 on going with a windsor motor. if you wanted you could bore/stroke to 410 and have a motor that weighs have of what a 460 does.
remember it takes more then just cubes to make power. i had a buddy with a 460 in a gutted out cougar. it was basically a stock 460 with ported stock heads and an edlebrock intake and it was a TURD!!! stock 5.0's could walk all over him. big motors need big heads, a big intake and a big carb to make power. and all those big parts are expensive

well, there is a possibility that i could get a 460 out of a junk truck... I do kno that there are 460 fox motor mounts, theyre about $160 at late model restoration... but yea besides the pan, headers and hood, like most motor swaps, i was wondering what kind of engine setups you guys were going with... like carb size? what heads? cam specs?
but i do know that i can pull a 351 out of my girlfriends dads 88-91 f250... so that is an efi motor... i would keep it EFI just for simplicity reasons, as the fox already has the harness and i would basically be upgrading the injectors and MAF as far as air/fuel goes... but same questions go for this swap.. what heads/cam/intake setups are good? and what size injectors/MAF?
Do you guys have any suggestions as to what would be better? obviously more cubic inches is better, but then, like most say, the weight is an issue with the big block... what kind of times/HP are you pushing out of your 351/460 foxbodies?
Thanks for all the replies Im just checkin out my options =)
