I, as well as many of us, am on a tight budget. I need some ideas on cheap performance mods. Ideas?

 

Gears, Usually cost about $600 (price of parts + labor)
Nitrous, most cost effective performance upgrade out there. Can be had for anywere from $400 to $1500+ depending on how hardcore of a system you go with

 

bump the timing = free
remove air silencer=free
K&N drop in air filter=40 bucks
short throw shifter (if manual)=100-250 bucks
subframe connectors ~100-250 bucks depending on brand, style and if you need to farm out the welding work...

whats done to the car already?

look around craigslist or corral for used parts.... deals can be had
