also have a stock explorer cam

lift @1.7 .448 I, .476
duration @.050, 186/197
Lobe 116`

my concern with the first 3 is too much lift. also is 112` enough for good vacuum & power brakes? or go 114`

thanks

lift does not determine what is to little or to much for a 302, using stock heads and average intake at best and a performance cam with the wrong valve events for stock heads would be just a 302 that makes noise...........when choosing a performance cam, having good heads and intake and proper fuel management system , is what makes or breaks the build....

for what your goal is, maybe the 51014....but at that price, heck I'd have a custom cam made that'll be taylored to the combo and max every area out for performance while yet still retaining drivibility....to give you an idea , I recently built a motor for my 89 vert and used edelbrock rpm heads = comparable to your afr 165's nad I wanted a cam that'd max out my performance with the parts combo I had and yet still retain a decent idle and drivibility, I ended up with a cam that had .550+ lift and 218* duration @.050, and power brakes work good, ED at FTI did a good job and bottom end is stock 302 and it screams close to 6k
