Need some opinions
Hey guys, been a long time since ive posted anything on the forums here. But i need some opinions on what i should do to my '92 5.0 LX. Right now its got pretty much stock everything expect for CAI, hooker shorty headers which are old and rusted, bbk o/r H pipe, stock piping with Flowmasters welded in. During this summer I want to do something to my car. I wanted to put BBK ceramic coated Longtube headers on my car. But then my friend suggested an e303 cam because it would provide more bang for my buck since im pretty low on cash. ButI figured the cam wouldnt be optimized without good heads and upper/lower intake and since mine is all stock I don't think I'd gain anything out of the cam. I am going for a more aggressive sound because as of now my 5.0 sounds like a pansy. lol Any advice guys??

I want noise. But i also have to take into consideration that I have to pass emissions next year and every 2 years. I was originally going to get historic tags as soon as i could (2012) but my car is a daily driver until i basically get my own house after college. So my original plans were BBK ceramic coated LT's w/ BBK o/r H pipe. Then when emissions came around I was going to get a BBK catted H-pipe merely for emission purposes. But then I was told by a friend to get a cam. I love the lop sounds of cams, but i know nothing about them. He recommended the e303 because it has an aggressive sound. I called AmericanMuscle and an e303 requires no rocker arms or anything: its a direct replacement. But I was researching, and a lot of people who put the e303 into a stock motor got in return decreased hp and torque.

If your intake and exaust arent other than stock the cam is definatly optional! prolly wont get much out of it unless you can move a little more air atleast on the exaust side!
Why the craze for LT`s on a stock car??? cars prolly gonna feel lazy until later in the rpm range without other healthy mods!
If it has aftermarket shorties just get and aftermarket H-X pipe and you got your sound!
I just put and E-cam in my buddys car with fully upgraded exaust and a bigger TB, with 4.10 gears, he loves it and it pulls nicely! It is an auto with a converter and vlv body upgrade also! He is just missing the intake to make it right! he just had to have the sound and a little more step, we are almost done with his 331 so he wasnt worried about the stock engine for long just wanted sound and a little pound!

hey man i mean my car is completely stock... I mean the guy who i bought it from said "yeah A/C heating, engine rebuild by Jegs, 315hp.. etc etc etc"... later to find out... No a/c. No heating. doesnt look like it was rebuilt. and i mean its faster than my 99 v6 i had but not 300 horse fast. The only things that are not stock are...
-no smog pump
-a/c delete kit
-smaller serpentine belt
-kyb shocks and struts
-hooker shorty headers (completely rusted)
-BBK o/r H
-Flowmasters (no idea what series)
-K&N intake
so from these.... what should i do?
