Default Rear axle seal..?

When I bought my car and had a local Mustang specialty shop give it a once over, one thing the guy pointed out was that it looks like there's a small leak of fluid out of the passenger side of the pumpkin, and I've noticed a few small specs of fluid on the rear bumper now and again. I asked the previous owner, and he said it was probably just leaking because it was a bit over-filled. Sometimes when I back up and turn while doing so, I feel it tiny nudge/rub feeling a bit (like a fully locked up Jeep would), but it hasn't been a problem. Today I was test driving it after a different small problem, and when I turned around in a culdesac I heard a slight/quiet moan type sound for a quick sec when going left or right in a circle. Does this sound like the differential is a bit low on fluid, and if so would that most likely point to a rear axle seal? I'm gonna have the rear differential fluid checked on the next oil change soon! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

the rear axle seals are out near the wheels... not the pumpkin

One other thing, when I looked at it tonight, the rear differential has an 'A' type symbol on the rear, which is a 'TA' differential cover/girdle. For all I know, it may be locked up, that's why it feels the way it does...still has a small leak however...

Hmmm...ok thanks Adder. So it's leaking [or looks like] from the side of the pumpkin possibly...

No, I can hear it coming from the rear...it's not a real loud moan, and only happens when turning in a circle...

no fix aside from welding the tubes, or smearing RTV silicone around it (after you clean it)

Ok, so this is a bit common then? I'd assume I'm safe if I just always have the rear differential fluid checked with every oil change every 3k?

Ok cool, I appreciate your input. The reason I was test driving it was because it has/had a problem today after driving it for like 40 minutes and shut it off to get the mail, it didn't wanna restart...I waited an hour and it started back up. I can tell you work on cars, because in another post I found today of you giving someone advice, I'm gonna try to have the TFI module tested and PIP if it can be... because I hear the fuel pump when I turn the key. Looks like you're saving alot of people on here so thank you Adder!
