Default restoration help

well i'v been debating selling or completly taking the car off the road and restoring it...im leaning more toward a loooooong term restoration, because i really love the car. but my question is for the guys that have restored foxes, and i know there's plenty of you on this site...my biggest thing is where to start, the car is parked in a garage, and my plan is to restore it back to factory as much as i can using parts i have and new parts of course. im not trying to make a race car out of it, just a nice fun crusier with a few hop up parts here and there...but anyhow, where's a good place to start and get my hands dirty? where shold i start with deconstruction? any tips would be great, anything at all really

probably 50resto.com but i dont think anyone here or anywhere has ever "restored" a 5.0 even in stock condition with no miles on it they arent worth anything

Start by taking EVERY thing off the car until it looks like this (minus the cage )

Inventory all the parts, figure out what you can save/fix, what needs to be replaced, and what you would like to upgrade, if anything.

Then as stated above start a 5.0resto, the forums, ebay, and summit for parts. Take your time!

I would start with the body and get it all painted that way you dont get over spray on your new suspension parts etc.

i'm in the process of doing what you want to.i started with the body.just cause it bugged me to see faded paint and i had money and the wife had no idea what i'm about to spend over the years.now i want to be in the 12's so i'm on that.but i'm changing things that need to be changed first.wether that's window motors or a block.now that's all done i'm upgrading perfectly good things to better.now i have a straight body with good paint and a perfect interior.my goal is the bone stock look with 10 second time slips in the glove box.no matter what you buy just make sure you buy it once.i just have suspension, motor and trans to change over the next couple of years.but at least i'll allway get to drive.no real down time in a piece by piece operation.
