Question turbo 347?

so ive built my 347 stroker, decent heads, crap cam, decent intake, and somewhere around 10:1 compression. my friend is selling a turbo and intercooler for fairly cheap. ive done the math and i can walk away with a boosted stang for around $800-900. i really dont want to pull the motor to drop the compression for the boost so i was reading up and found this..

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...tio/index.html

i have forged internals and am only wanting around 5-10lbs of boost anyway. anyone have a second opinion on this? thanks

You can run the turbo on a 10:1 compression but i really would go more then 5-7psi

more specs on the build plz. did you calculate on your own the compression or just "advertised" compression.

wow...could have spent the same money or slightly more and you would have been 10's on the motor....

you probably wont even break 11.99 on that build like that. your heads are far too small for a 347. those heads arent even big enough for a 302. i would take that money you plan on using for the turbo and put it right back into the motor to due it right and sell the other stuff.

what block are you using? if stock block, dont even bother getting the turbo. a bone stock 5.0 will make about 500rwhp at about 16psi of boost.

and like already mentioned, those heads are a joke. you should be running 190 minimum. fwiw, i have a 331 running ported 205s.

but to answer your question, you can run boost on 10:1 with no problem. my buddy ran 10:1 and 11psi via a non intercooled vortech. if your turbo kit has an intercooler itll be even easier for you to run 10:1 is all in the tune.

its a stock block, yea i know my gear sucks but at the time its the best i could do :/ im wanting to get around 400hp (on the motor, not to the ground) at some point but right now this is all i can do. i figured a turbo would be a simple solution to a bigger problem until i get get the cash to finish the build correctly.
