You are in for a ugly suprise to the wallet. Used cars are sold as is. Ok, here is the nasty truth ...three legged horse traders. How well does a three legged horse run? Life lesson learned.

yea you in for some suprises i only planed on spending about $500 ( heads ported and cam)...haha yea right!! breaings gone now , so took the bottomend off and good thing cause all the bearings are washed away. mine as well save up and do the whole block. only cost me $125 for .30 over $22 for cam bearings, $65 to grind the crank and about$80 for rings and crank bearings. not as much as you might think . pistons and rods are where the money really bumps up.

I bought the car as a project, this is not my first. it would not be any fun if there was nothing to work on Just seeing if anyone had used this cam.

I did a custom cam the has over .560 lift and just under 220 duration for good idle and vaccum and rpm shift is at 6200 iirc, and it rocks with a less than desirable h/c/i it ran 12.6 out of the box, the car pulls hard all the way up to shift point props to FTI

for me it was, I matched all the parts and wasn't looking for a fast ride, just something with a little more zing than stock and I used parts that I got for a real good deal and others I had laying around, for example the edelbrock rpm heads I put on, I got from a friend for 450.00 and they had less than 2k miles on them, he was hard up for cash, so why not for 450.00.., but with the custom cam, once the designer knows the parts you will be using and what your goal is they can set you up with a matched cam to your combo

thats what i am lookin for now a little more than stock. i do not have the money to do a stroker or full on build like i would like to do. i have a gt40 intake from an explorer that i picked up cheap and am lookin for better than stock heads at a reasonable price i have a set of 1.7 crane roller rockers i picked up for next to nothing. what heads would you recomend? i have been watching gt40's on ebay but they are all 300+ for beat to hell heads. i do not want to go to cheap as heads are a lot more of a pain to change and expensive to buy twice. i appreciate any reccommendtions. thanks mike
