Default opinion on a possible purchase

Just noticed that a guy down the road from me has his 1982 mustang out for sale. it's a clean body, underneath it is clean, not rusted out. has a motor/trans/dash/wiring swap from a '92. started right up and runs/drives great. comes with a t5. not sure on the rear end, did these still ahve 7.5's? it comes with new gt500 style 17" wheels and a newish stormin normin hood. it needs paint, but if i got it i'd just put the motor/trans/rear from my car into this one and put the 92 stuff into my '95 and sell the '95.

he's asking 1700 for it, i figure i'll offer him 1500? what do you guys think?

I WANT A 4EYE!

You say it's in good shape, if it's complete ( in & out ), I say get it. Sounds like a great deal.

Its a good deal, and its a 4 eyed fox. The best of both worlds for you. Jump on it.

i want to do it because my 95 has something tweeked in the front end. one wheels sits farther back than the other side and the other side has an inch more wheel gap than the other. i'm taking it to work today actually to get the front end inspected and see if they can figure out what is bent.

I just love the look of 4eyes and think the 95 is bad luck.

well I think i'm picking this up tomorrow. I went and looked at it again and body wise it needs just a couple things. a dent above the door, a new steel cowl section from where a hood came up, and the rear wheel wells are rusty. the rear wheel wells i'm not worried about because I plan to mini tub it to get some nice tires back there. the other two things along with a new paint job i was told could be done for around 1k plus supplies. body guy at my shop owe's me a couple favors. but the hatch and under the doors is rust free. I got under neath it and there's some surface rust on some places but it almost looks better than my '95. also the engine bay is in good shape, the strut towers aren't rusted nor is anything else in there.
