Question Roll Cage Help

Have a 1990 Mustang...Looking for a NHRA approved bolt in roll cage not welded in. Anybody know who sells it? Thanks

..... never heard of a roll cage that is NHRA approved that is not welded in budy, think your out of luck there, Has to be securly mounted to the chassis

oh lol, yea you're right kweb...i thought he was saying "not a bolt in" since he was asking for NHRA approved. lol, reading owns me...

Actually, I believe NHRA cages(only up to a 4 or 6pnt though) are approved if they're bolt in up to a certain speed/ET, but they also specify the bolt size/grade as well as reinforcing plates etc. It may have changed though.

yep. the only restriction on the MM bolt in kit, is that the rear support struts have to be welded together, They have a bolt that runs through them, but to be NHRA legal, the tubes themselves need to be welded together.

They CAN be bolted to the floor

hmmm must be different from tech guy to tech guy lol. Guy who is certifiying my cage said they have to be welded to the body

you are also doing an SFI spec cage... yours will be what, 9.99 legal?

a bolt in cage is 11.5 legal

I think a bolt in 6 point bar is legal to 10.00 IF the floorpan is not modifed.
I also think that Competition engingeering sells an NHRA legal 6 point kit........
